Ambrosia™

IMPORT / October - March

Ambrosia is a bi-colored apple with a fluorescent pink blush over a creamy yellow background. It was first cultivated by Wilfrid and Sally Mennell who discovered it as a chance seedling in 1987 in the Similkameen Valley of British Columbia. This apple, which was quickly met with high acclaim, is believed to be a cross between the Golden Delicious and Jonagold, though the parentage is uncertain.  Ambrosia has a mild honeyed sweetness. Its flesh is tender, crisp and juicy. Ambrosia is best for eating fresh as the honeyed flavor and the mild acidity set off the rich, perfumed aroma. It also is a great apple for baking and juicing.
